What it's About: Theni, the daughter of the chief honey collector of a tribe in the Nilgiris, discovers a major company’s hidden agendas. When the water disappears from the lake near Theni’s home, the majestic wild gaur is the most affected. The herd of gaurs begins to migrate from the forest into the town, leaving behind their destroyed home. 

Theni and her friends embark on an adventure to confront the company and restore the golden web of balance to their local ecosystem. In the process, Theni discovers more about the myth of the wild gaur and why her ancestors created such a myth in the first place. 

About the Author: Priyadarshini is a writer and English teacher. She did her schooling from the Kodaikanal International School and completed her Masters in Comparative Literature from the University of Hyderabad. She also finished her B.Ed from the English and Foreign Languages University and is currently working as an English Language and Literature teacher.

Priyadarshini is a UNESCO Sahapedia research fellow and has authored two books called “The Postwoman and Other Stories” and “Unsung Sheroes and Heroes”.
